More details under the Rokpa main website. The Rokpa organisation was set up in 1982 by Dr. Akong Tulku Rinpoche, founder of the Samye Ling Tibetan Centre in Scotland ( Samye Ling site ), to which Samye Dzong in Plzen (Pilsen) is affiliated. Under his inspiration, Rokpa has grown into a world-wide group of non-political, non-sectarian organisations working specifically to help those in need and generally to improve the quality of life everywhere. The activities of Rokpa today falls into three main areas:
Humanitarian aid - Altough Samye Dzong does not run it`s own business, it supports other organizations and foundations involved in this field in the Czech Republic. which has brought together Eastern and Western approaches to the understanding of the mind.
The method is founded on compassion towards ourselves and others. Its main source
is the practice, philosophy and psychology of Buddhism. Tara Rokpa Therapy was developed by
Dr. Akong Tulku Rinpoche to help people to attain deeper understanding of themselves through
the exploration and integration of body, speech and mind. Tara Rokpa Therapy is offered
on a number of different levels, for example: Learning to relax, Back to Beginnings,
Taming the tiger etc. Spirituality - Samye Dzong is a spiritual centre for the study,
practice and application of the Buddha`s teachings, but is open to people of all faiths
